CLARKTON — Two men were arrested after an Elizabethtown man was shot at a clandestine pool hall on Hallsboro Road early Sunday morning.
Tyrone Warren, 41, of 2292 Jenkins Road, Whiteville, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury for allegedly shooting the victim, Bladen County Sheriff Steve Bunn said, and Clarence Lennon, 75, of 1298 Hallsboro Road, Clarkton, was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Lennon is reportedly the owner of the pool hall. Both men were arrested around 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, Bunn said.
Lennon has since been released on bond, and Warren was still in the Bladen County Jail on a $15,000 secured bond as of press time on Thursday.
Cedric Jacobs, 27, of 600 Mercer Mill Road, Elizabethtown, was shot once in the arm in the incident, Bunn said, which occurred at the 1298 Hallsboro Road address.
“Jacobs was at a pool hall at this residence when the suspect (Warren) came out of the building with a pistol drawn,” he said. “The victim and the suspect struggled over the gun.”
Two shots were fired, Bunn added. It has not yet been determined if Lennon’s gun was used in the shooting.
