DUBLIN — Bladen Community College family will hold a formal Installation ceremony for their new president, William Findt, today at 11 a.m. The program will be held in the Auditorium on the main campus in Dublin.
A career educator, Dr. Findt has worked in the North Carolina Community College System for more than 30 years.
A native of Indiana, he moved to North Carolina at an early age and graduated from high school in Statesville. After attending Mitchell College (now Mitchell Community College), he earned a bachelor of arts in history from Wake Forest University. He later completed a master’s degree in higher education administration from Appalachian State University and a doctorate in higher education administration from Virginia Tech University.
Findt’s career in education began at Garland High School in Sampson County, where he was a social studies teacher. He then became the director of continuing education at Sampson Community College for 10 years. He later moved to Alamance Community College and then to Mitchell Community College in Statesville.
At the time he was selected to lead Bladen Community College, he was the executive vice president for development and community relations at Mitchell and interim vice president for instruction at the college.
Findt is the fourth president Bladen Community College has had in its 41-year history.
The community is invited to attend the ceremony.
