ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a One N.C. Fund grant agreement with Dynapar Corporation on Monday.
In an interview on Wednesday, Bladen County Economic Development Director Chuck Heustess said the approval in the meeting was simply a formality.
“The actual project was announced in November,” said Heustess. “The money has already been set aside by the state.”
The project will include an expansion and Dynapar signed an agreement to commit to creating 70 new jobs.
“Basically, the contracts have been going back and forth between the state and Danaher (Dynapar),” said Heustess. “The investment range is forecast to be a couple of million dollars.”
The next step in the process is Dynapar must present evidence to the state of the jobs having been created. Once the necessary paperwork is submitted, then the grant funds can be requested by Dynapar, according to Heustess.
“Basically, the incentives come from the state and county and are performance based. If they don’t create the jobs, then no money is paid,” he said.
