— June 11, 1984: In representation of a group of voters from White's Creek, Jay Priest appears before the Bladen County Board of Elections proposing that Commissioner Wilbur Register be disqualified from the race for county commisioner. Wilbur was said to be soliciting near the entrance of a polling place in White's Creek.
June 11, 1953: Nearly 300 locals, mostly comprised of Bladen County farmers, gather at J.R. Powell farm to witness an irrigation demonstration on a tobacco crop. This modernization gripped the agricultural community of Bladen County.
