LUMBERTON — Eight employees and three retirees from Bladen County were honored Monday, Feb. 1, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center’s annual service awards banquet. Southeastern’s administrators and Human Resources Director Joseph Glezen presented service pins during the after-dinner ceremony held in the hospital’s dining room.

Employees celebrating a five-year anniversary milestone of 15 or more years were honored at the ceremony by receiving service pins. Former employees who retired during 2009 were also recognized. More than 2,200 employees work on Southeastern’s main campus and affiliated agencies.

Deborah B. Sapp (WoodHaven) of Bladenboro received a service pin for 35 years of service.

Susan S. Henderson (Fiscal Services) of Tar Heel received a 30-year pin.

Jackie M. Bedsole (Southeastern Health Center Clarkton) of Bladenboro was recognized for 25 years of service.

Honored for 15 years of service were: Delena M. Bledsoe (Southeastern Heart Center) of Bladenboro, Rebecca M. Brown (6th-Tower) of Clarkton, Kenneth B. Hilbourn (Southeaster Heart Center) of Chadbourn, Donna B. Kinlaw (Patient Care Services) of Dublin, and Thomas L. White (Emergency Services) of Clarkton.

Three employees from Bladen County who retired in 2009 received plaques. They are: Cathy Freeman of Bladenboro, 28 years; Darlene Shook of Elizabethtown, 37 years; and Patricia Taylor of Bladenboro, 28 years.
