Beef marketing meeting planned

ELIZABETHTOWN — There will be a Beef Marketing Meeting on Tuesday, March 30, at 7 p.m. at the Bladen County Extension Office located at 455 Smith Circle Dr in Elizabethtown.

The meeting will be a combination of speakers and webcast. Speakers will discuss graded state sales, preconditioning, and truckload lots. There will also be a panel discussion about marketing options. This meeting is geared towards farms of all sizes and possible marketing arrangements that any producer can join.

Topics and speakers include: “Graded and Preconditioned Sales” by Bruce Shankle, NCDA Livestock Marketing; “Truckload Lots and Alliances” by Allen Malero, Anson County producer; “Marketing Plans, ‘Value-added’ and Importance of Small Producer Alliances” by Steve Grady and Brandon Cox, Coastal Carolina Cattle Alliance; and “Truckload Lots” by Don Wellons, Harnett County producer.
