ELIZABETHTOWN — The Gamma Xi Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society met on Sept. 21 at Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery. President Missy Wells called the meeting to order and Noel Dennis gave the invocation.

After the meal, Teresa Coleman introduced guest speaker Janet Miller of Bladen County Department of Social Services. She shared information about the Foster Care Program and the various services offered to those who receive this care.

Secretary Dennis read the minutes from the previous meeting and Denise White provided the treasurer’s report.

The half-and-half drawing was won by Barbara Wilkins; door-prize winners were Genia Hester, Debbie Hester, Deborah Guyton, Jeanne Kirby, Gail Marsh, Bonnell Walker, Mary Hill, Rosalie Russ, Sharon Anderson and Cheryl Walters.

President Wells thanked the hostesses — Terry Smith, Robah Britt, Ann Elks, Connie Kinlaw and Laurie Smith — and the meeting was closed with prayer.
