BLADENBORO — The Bladenboro Visual Arts Council is offering the public the chance to view the art of Laura Newman during the months of September and October. A “Meet the Artist” event will take place at a reception on Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 2 p.m.
Newman has her certificate for art education and is now teaching in the Richland County School System. She has a bachelor of fine arts degree and is working on getting her master’s in fine art at UNC-Pembroke. She has a jewelry design business creating vintage inspired jewelry.
The art display is located in the Bladenboro Art Gallery and can be seen Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bladenboro Historical Building, 818 South Main St., Bladenboro.
Visitors are welcome. There is no admission charge.
