New festival needs volunteers

The Town of Elizabethtown presents “The Pork & Beats Festival” on Saturday, November 18th at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. This year’s event kicks off with the distribution of the hogs to all the “Pork Cook Off” Participants on Friday night, November 17th.

Events kick off Saturday morning featuring live entertainment, Judging of the “Pork Cook Off” Contest, BBQ Plate Sales, Classic Car Show, Vendors, Kids Activities, and concludes with a free concert featuring Black Water Rhythm & Blues!

The Pork Festival Committee will meet again on Tuesday, August 30th at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market at 5:30 PM. Volunteers are needed to assist with the planning of events for the festival. The event proceeds will help support future events and a donation will be made to the Bladen County Emergency Services Training Center.
