— The town of Sandyfield will hold its 20th annual Parade and Fun Day Celebration at 11 a.m. The parade line-up will begin at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Hoover Road and Bowen-Blanks Drive. Aug. 29

— The Pork Festival Committee will meet again at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market at 5:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to assist with the planning of events for the festival. The event proceeds will help support future events and a donation will be made to the Bladen County Emergency Services Training Center.

Aug. 31

— The Bladen County Extension Office, located at 450 Smith Circle Drive in Elzabethtown, will host a Fall Apple Harvest starting at 3 p.m. There will be an apple treat competition, tasting, and judging, facts about apples and a DIY apple cinnamon project. Price is $1 entrance or $1 for each treat entry. The best tasting treat wins a $25 gift card.

Sept. 7

— The main branch of the Bladen County Public Library will host a school supplies giveaway starting at 5:30 p.m. Students must be present to receive the school supplies and all supplies will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Supplies are being made available by the Goodwill Community Foundation and are available to K-12 students only.

— The B.C.T.S-B.C.H.S Alumni Association will hold its annual Awards Banquet at 7 p.m. at the Paul R. Brown Building in Elizabethtown.
