The following Bladen County businesses and organizations have announced closings for the New Year’s holiday:

— All branches of the Bladen County Public Library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

— Bladen County administrative offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day. The commissioners’ meeting regularly scheduled for the first Monday of the month will be moved to Tuesday, Jan. 2.

— The Bladen Journal offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, in observance of the new year. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, Jan. 2.

— Bladen County schools’ winter break will continue through Monday, Jan. 1. Classes will resume Tuesday, Jan. 2.

— Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy’s Christmas leave will continue through Friday, Jan. 5. Classes will resume Monday, Jan. 8.

— Emereau: Bladen will remain closed for its winter break through Tuesday, Jan. 2. Classes will resume Wednesday, Jan.3.

— U.S post offices nationwide will be closed New Year’s Eve, Sunday, Dec. 31, and New Year’s Day, Monday, Jan. 1. Blue collection boxes will not be serviced on New Year’s Eve. Regular collections will be made Saturday, Dec. 30. Mail will not be picked up from collection boxes Jan. 1. Normal collection will resume Tuesday, Jan. 2. In addition, mail will not be delivered New Year’s Day, except Priority Mail Express, which will be delivered both Sunday and Monday. Regular mail delivery will resume Tuesday, Jan. 2.

— For New Year’s observance, the town of Elizabethtown offices will be closed Monday. Jan. 1. The Town Council’s monthly meeting, regularly scheduled for the first Monday of the month has been moved to Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 6 p.m. at the municipal building.

— All federal offices, state offices, and municipal government offices not already mentioned will be closed Monday, Jan. 1.

— All federal, state, and local courts will be closed Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of the new year.
