ELIZABETHTOWN — At a recent special called meeting of the Elizabethtown Planning Board, Ashley Dowless and Lorenzo McDowell were sworn-in to serve as members of the board.

Dowless was appointed by the Bladen County Commissioners to serve on the Elizabethtown Planning Board as the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction representative while Lorenzo McDowell was appointed by town council to fill an existing vacancy created by the recent death of J. C. Batchelor.

During the planning board meeting, Chairman Howell Clark welcomed the two new board members aboard.
