— Team Nathan will be selling raffle tickets to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research through the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Items to be raffled include numerous items from local businesses in Bladen, Columbus and Robeson counties. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Drawings for winners will take place April 6.
— Be sure to turn all clocks ahead one hour for the start of Daylight Savings Time. Also be sure to check batteries in smoke detectors.
— The Bladen County Opioid Task Force will meet at Bladen Community College’s auditorium at 2 p.m. The public is invited.
— The Bladen County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown. New members and the public are invited.

— Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 901 W. Broad St. in Elizabethtown, will host a free program titled “The basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease” from 9 to 11 a.m. The public is invited.
— The 26th annual Old-Fashioned Planter’s Day will be held at the Graham Agricultural Museum, located at 9252 Old Fayetteville Road near Ammon. The day will feature country and gospel singing, a saw mill, old tractors, antique cars, craft vendors, children’s games and rides, antique farm equipment and much more. Admission by donation.

— Jones Lake State Park will host its eighth annual Egg Hunt starting at 11 a.m. There will be an egg hunt, games and prizes for all ages. Concessions will be available. Pre-register at the Jones lake State Park Visitor Center or call 910-588-4550 by March 30.
— Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church will host a barbecue plate fundraiser to benefit East Bladen High School football coach Robby Priest on Saturday, April 7, in the PAC building from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be a silent auction. Plates will cost $8 each and will include barbecue, baked beans, slaw, rolls and dessert for eat-in or take out. T-shirts with the slogan #RobbyStrong can also be purchased through the Facebook group Fighting with Robby—#RobbyStrong. Priest is currently battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy treatments. All proceeds from the fundraisers will go to assist Priest and his family with medical expenses.

— The annual Kelly Spring Fest will be held at the Kelly Ballpark and will feature the North Tower band starting at 11 a.m. A parade will kick off the festivities at 10 a.m. starting on Cassius Smith Road. • WHITEVILLE: The Compassionate Friends Border Belt Chapter, serving the parents of both Columbus and Bladen counties, will meet in the fellowship hall of Grace Episcopal Church, 105 S. Madison St. in Whiteville on March 12 at 7 p.m. Any adult who has experienced a loss of their child, grandchild or sibling is welcome to attend.
