ST. PAULS — The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying two people of interest in a shooting that left one person dead and three others injured at a St. Pauls home.

According to Maj. Anthony Thompson, chief of detectives for the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call of a home invasion at 3354 Shaw Road in St. Pauls at about 8:34 p.m. on Monday. When they arrived, they found 51-year-old Rodney Kirk Murphy dead.

Murphy, who lived at an unknown address in Maxton, had been shot in the stomach, Thompson said.

A resident of the home, 36-year-old Leila Marie Brooks, had been beaten with a pistol; 36-year-old Horace Jamal Glover Jr., of Britt Road in St. Pauls, had also been shot in the stomach; and 37-year-old John Lydell Bullard, of Victoria Drive in Parkton had been shot in the hand.

According to Thompson, the injuries suffered by Brooks, Glover and Bullard “did not appear to be life-threatening, however all three were taken to local hospitals for treatment.”

Thompson said investigators have not determined why Murphy, Glover and Bullard were at Brooks’ home. A robbery occurred during the home invasion, Thompson said, but it’s unclear who was robbed and what was taken.

The Sheriff’s Office has released images of two people believed to be involved in the incident and is asking anyone with information to call 910-671-3100.
