The following Bladen County businesses and organizations have announced closings for the July 4 holiday:
— All branches of the Bladen County Public Library will be closed Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
— Bladen County administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4, and will re-open Thursday, July 5. Also, the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners has been moved to Monday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m.
— The Bladen Journal offices will be closed on July 4 in observance of the holiday. Normal business hours will resume Thursday, July 5.
— U.S. post offices nationwide will be closed on Independence Day. Regular collections, delivery, and post office hours will resume Thursday, July 5.
— In observance of July 4, Elizabethtown’s administrative offices will be closed Wednesday. In addition, the Town Council’s monthly meeting, regularly scheduled for the first Monday of the month, has been moved to Monday, July 9. The noon session and the 7 p.m. meeting will both take place in Council chambers at the municipal building.
— Bladen County Solid Waste’s Mercer Mill Road Convenience Site will be operating on its normal schedule, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. All other convenience sites will be closed, as will the transfer station. Normal operations will resume on Thursday, July 5.
— All federal offices, state offices, and municipal government offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
— All federal, state, and local courts will be closed Wednesday to commemorate Independence Day.
