White Lake Water Park offers ways to beat the heat

WHITE LAKE — With area heat indexes reaching into triple-digits on a regular basis, perhaps one of the most popular places in Bladen County might be the White Lake Water Park, where folks can find all sorts of watery attractions to beat the summer heat.

Along with the numerous wet attractions are other areas that have brought people of all ages to the park — like a number of Tiki huts that allow for grilling and picnicking; numerous lounge chairs throughout the park; and a new stable of go-karts at the racetrack.

The wet attractions include a 50 foot tall and 210 foot long Double Turbo Twister Slide, a 2,ooo square foot swimming pool, a 100,000 gallon wave pool and a 600-foot-long lazy river. The park also has other fun attractions that include bumper boats, large bucket dumps and, on the wet deck, a sinking submarine and frog slide.

The park also has a special fenced-in area for kids under six years old with kiddie slides and small bucket dumps.

“I think that the beach pool, or the wave pool, as people like to call it, is something relatively new in the park that people tend to really enjoy,” explains manager Tonnie Hucks. “I believe people also enjoy the fact that you can spend all day in the park, rent a tiki hut and grill.”

She added, “Also, some people that may not enjoy lakes would love to come and swim in chlorinated water.”

The park also has just replaced its go-karts.

“They are Shaller GoKarts, which is known to be the best on the market,” explained Hucks.

The park is located at 192 NC-53, Elizabethtown, NC 28333. Its hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. all week and weekend.

Guests over four feet tall cost $16.55 before 3 p.m.. After, admission only costs $8.27.

Guests under four feet tall costs $10.14 before 3 p.m. After, the guests only cost $5.17.
