WHITE LAKE — The White Lake Police Department has identified three suspects in a recent robbery and issued warrants for their arrest.

Adam Lee Chavis, 30, of Fayetteville; Dewayne Collidge Pleaseants, Jr., 27, of Fayetteville; and Thomas Joseph Murdock, 28, of Fayetteville, are being sought for felony larceny and conspiring to commit felony larceny.

On July 1, at 8:39 p.m., three suspects befriended a victim at a business located in the 1600 block of White Lake Drive. The victim followed the three suspects into the parking lot area of the business. The suspects then got into a gray Honda passenger car. The suspects, while sitting in the vehicle and the victim standing outside the vehicle, asked the victim if he could change a ten dollar bill. The victim removed his wallet from his pocket and began to look through it. The suspects snatched the victim’s wallet and drove away. The suspects were last seen in a gray Honda sedan displaying North Carolina Registration Plate ID -099251, leaving the scene. The registration plate displayed on the vehicle was previously reported stolen from an used car dealership in Lumberton.

“Media has been very helpful in getting the word out about these people,” said Mike Salmon, with the White Lake Police Department. “I received more calls about these guys than anyone else in 18 years of police work. People have been very helpful.”

Salmon said anyone with information on the wherabouts of the three suspects is urged to call the White Lake Police Department at 910-862-4057 or, to remain anonymous, visit http://www.whitelakenc.org/police.html.
