ELIZABETHTOWN — The Reindeer 5K, a fundraiser jointly organized by the North Carolina Junior Beta Club and the Young Ambassadors of Men & Women United for Youth and Families, is Dec. 7 in Elizabethtown at 8:30 a.m.

The collaborative project is spearheaded by Jair McElveen, the state president of the Junior Beta Club, club parents, and the Young Ambassadors. The beneficiaries of the effort will be hurricane victims on Ocracoke Island, and the two organizations.

Registration can be done on race day, and participants can run or walk. The event will headquarter that morning at 292 Bengreen Industrial Park Road, with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. The location is adjacent to the Curtis L. Brown Jr. Field runways near N.C. 87, on the Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery side of the airport.
