DUBLIN — Commissioners in Dublin are still working out the kinks in the decisions about changing software for payroll and the auditing process, town clerk Ashley Matthews wrote in an email.

Matthews presented three bids, two from Southern Software and one from Central Square, to the board at its most recent meeting. The three quotes would allow staff to do away with spreadsheets, and one from each company includes tax software.

Commissioner Jeffrey Smith asked Matthews to reach out to Bryon Scott from Thompson, Price, Scott and Adams to investigate if ADP software would handle the payroll. Smith said ADP for his company’s payroll is only about $40 a week.

Smith asked Matthews for the breakdown of the payroll module from Southern Software. Matthews said the payroll processing and payment central is together.

Chief Pete Batton reported that the Fire Department received a forestry grant. No movement has been made on the proposed closures of 1st or 2nd streets; no property owners have contacted the clerk.

Matthews explained to the board that Assistant Clerk Amy DiCicco was not able to go to the last Complete Count Committee meeting, but she would be attending the next meeting. Matthews informed the board after speaking with Jean Klein from the Lumber River Council of Governments that the town did not have any applicable need for the Golden LEAF application and that the deadline had passed.

The Dublin Peanut Committee is having the third annual Dublin Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 30 at 5:45 p.m. The tree will be next to Town Hall.

The board will next meet Dec. 5 but has canceled the Dec. 16 meeting. The first meeting of 2020 is Jan. 2.
