ELIZABETHTOWN — Five grants for small businesses based in Bladen County are being made available by Bladen We Care.

The grants are each for $500, and are being made possible by a donation from Lt. Gov. Dan Forest. He stopped in the county earlier this month and left a donation of $4,000.

Bladen We Care is a community-based nonprofit foundation governed by a volunteer board of directors, dedicated to raising and overseeing distribution of funds which will help provide health care for patients in need in Bladen County. On occasion, the organization provides in situations that are not health-related.

Applications must be submitted by May 27. To access them, email bladenwecare@campbelloil.net, or find them at the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce website at elizabethtownwhitelake.com.

The applications will require a business’ name, contact, and years of operation. The amount of loss during COVID-19 should be included and the method for determining that loss, and how the business plans to use the $500.

Questions should be directed to the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at 910-862-4368. There is no requirement to be a chamber member.
