According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, a call was placed to Bladen County 911 Center Wednesday morning regarding shots fired in the area of Moultrie Lane and Peanut Plant Road in Elizabethtown. Law enforcement are currently looking for two armed suspects in the area.
One individual has been taken to the hospital for non life threatening wounds.
Because of the search, all Bladen County schools were initially placed on lockdown.
However, at shortly after 11 a.m., law enforcement advised the distrcit that Elizabethtown Middle School, Elizabethtown Primary School and the District Office will remain on lockdown until further notice. Please do not attempt to come to the school or office.
Per Sheriff Jim McVicker, the school district was able to lift the lockdown at Bladen Early College, Bladen Lakes Primary School, Bladenboro Middle School, Bladenboro Primary School, Clarkton School of Discovery, Dublin Primary School, East Arcadia School, East Bladen High School, Plain View Primary School, Tar Heel Middle School and West Bladen High School.
