ROWLAND — Bladen County Sheriff’s Office received a report on Nov. 25 of a juvenile who had been sexually assaulted by a family member. Through the course of the investigation, law enforcement determined that Roberto Ortiz Rivera, 38 of Rowland, had repeatedly sexually assaulted the female victim.
Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Roberto Ortiz Rivera on Tuesday at his place of employment in Rowland, NC.
Rivera was charged with one count of statutory rape of a child under or equal to 15 years of age.
Rivera was transported to The Bladen County Detention Center and is being held under a $2,500,000 secure bond.
Additional charges against Rivera are expected in this case.
