WHITE LAKE — It won’t be long before the p[opulation of WHite lake balloons for the summer, but first the vacation town will get an influx of visitors for the 38th annual White Lake Water Festival on Friday, May 20, and Saturday, May 21.
Residents or businesses who are wanting to get in on the action still have time to do so, according to Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dawn Maynard, whose organization sponsors the event.
“We are still accepting applications for the parade and for arts and crafts vendors,” she said.
The festival accepts vendors with authentic crafts, nonprofit organization booths, business displays, vendors with factory-made items, and food vendors. The food vendor fee is $100.
Applications for vendors or for participation in the parade can be found at www.whitelakewaterfestival.com. On that site, a schedule of events or a brochure can also be printed out.
The event will also include a classic car cruise in, an antique tractor display, a classic car show, and a lawn and garden tractor pull, but registration for those events happens on site the day of the event.
Maynard reported that they are still seeking sponsors for the festival at either the Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Friends of the Festival level.
“The Water Festival is designed to kick off the tourist season for the lake for part-time residents, full-time residents and the neighboring community,” Maynard said, “so we’re hoping for good participation.”
