ELIZABETHTOWN — Maurice Williams, president of the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, will be the keynote speaker at the Bladen County Training School – Bladen Central High School Alumni Association’s 35th Annual Awards Banquet.

Williams, a Bladen County native, is the son of Jimmy and Katie Johnson Williams.

He is the founder and owner of Whimsical Florist and Gifts located at 312 S. Popular St. in Elizabethtown. In addition to serving on the Chamber of Commerce, he serves on the Elizabethtown Planning Board, Emereau Charter School board of directors and Bladen County Hospital Foundation Board.

He and his wife Vicky and their two daughters, Albanie and Karinna, reside in Elizabethtown.

The banquet will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at The Paul Brown Building in Elizabethtown. Individuals will be recognized in the areas of Service to Youth, Service to the Alumni Association and Spiritual Leadership. Scholarships to local high school graduates will also be awarded that night.

Admission is $25 and the public is invited.
