ELIZABETHTOWN — A Bladen County man was sent to prison for life without the chance of parole for his role in the murder of an Elizabethtown man in October 2014.

Twasjay Roddreek Brown, 23, of Elizabethtown was convicted of murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to the Bladen County District Attorney’s Office, Brown’s sentencing came after a week-long trial in Bladen County Superior Court.

Court records show that Brown, along with Ernest Raysean Gray of Clarkton, were accused of killing Malcolm Melvin in his home on Sammy Lane. Reports say Melvin was shot in the head with a handgun.

Gray was arrested in November 2014, and Brown was arrested in February 2015.
