BLADENBORO — It didn’t take long for Bladen County Sheriff’s Office investigators to get to the bottom of an armed robbery Thursday at a residence in Bladenboro.

According to Sheriff Jim McVicker, deputies began an investigation when the victims, Karkie Lamont Henry, 36, of Council, and Celestal Antonise Miles, 36, of Rowland, went to the Handee Hugo’s store on North Main Street in Bladenboro and reported they had been robbed at the home of Abdul Jabbar Tucker.

“The victims said they were at the residence visiting when Tucker produced a handgun and forced them to turn over $1,900 in cash,” McVicker said.

Investigators arrested Tucker, 32, within hours of the robbery and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was placed in Bladen County jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

McVicker said Tucker was still on probation after serving eight years with the North Carolina Department of Corrections for robbery with a dangerous weapon.
