ELIZABETHTOWN — Two Bladen County men have been arrested in Virginia and charged with firearms violations, including the possession of a gun reported stolen from an Elizabethtown business.
On Tuesday, June 26, Virginia authorities arrested Marcus Jermil Blake, 35, and Darrell Laron Rhodie Jr., 28, both of Elizabethtown, after discovering two firearms hidden in a speaker box during a traffic stop.
“One of the firearms found had been reported stolen from a car while it was being serviced at the Car Wash on Swanzy Street in Elizabethtown on June 12,” said Lt. Lonnie Cheshire with the Elizabethtown Police Department.
Blake and Rhodie Jr. were both charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by felon. They are currently being held in Virginia under no bond.
The Elizabethtown Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is still investigating the theft of the firearm that took place at the Car Wash.
