ROCKINGHAM COUNTY (WECT) — A Tabor City man is accused of stealing over 500 pounds of copper and various tools from a work site in Rockingham County earlier this year.

According to officials, Dustin Randall Duncan, 25, was arrested and charged with stealing 525 pounds of copper, a chainsaw, and a chop saw from a storage room at Southeast Power Company in Reidsville.

The thefts reportedly occurred between April 27 and Oct. 27 while Duncan was an employee. Officials say he was staying at a motel while working for the business.

Duncan allegedly sold the copper as scrap to a recycling company and the saws to a pawn shop in Greensboro.

He was charged with felony breaking and entering, two counts of felony possession of stolen property, and felony larceny. Duncan was booked in the Rockingham County Jail under a $25,000 bond.
