ELIZABETHTOWN — A Bladen County man was arrested on drug charges by Elizabethtown police officers on Monday and sent to jail.

According to Chief Kip Hester, officers were given information that a black man was selling crack cocaine and marijuana near the intersection of Dunham Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

“Officers arrived on the scene and located the black male suspect wearing the clothes as described in the information we received,” Hester said. “(After searching the man) officers located crack cocaine and marijuana in the suspect’s pockets.”

Police arrested Willie Edward King of Elizabethtown and charged him with possesskion with intento to manufacture, sell and distributed marijuana and cocaine, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

King was booked into the Bladen County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
