WHITEVILLE — The February meeting of the Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society for women educators was held at The Chef and The Frog in Whiteville.

President Missy Wells called the meeting to order and welcomed all members and guests. Stephanie Hester gave the devotion and invocation.

Teresa Coleman provided the program for the evening, by inviting Stacie Kinlaw, Bladen County 4-H agent, to share information about 4-H with the group. Kinlaw gave some history about 4-H and discussed current Bladen County 4-H news. She also shared that approximately 1,600 students are served by 4-H in the schools.

Secretary Noel Dennis read the minutes from the last meeting and Denise White provided the treasurer’s report.

Haley Cheshire was the winner of the half-and-half drawing. Door prizes were won by Mary Hill, Randi Harrelson, Gail Marsh, Bonnell Walker, Linda Johnson, Deborah Guyton, Missy Wells and Pam Tatum.

President Wells thanked the hostesses — Janet Huggins, Debbie Hester, Patricia Johnson and Susan Daniel — and the meeting was closed with prayer by Wells.
