BLADENBORO — The Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society for women educators in Bladen County held its April meeting at the First Baptist Church in Bladenboro.

President Missy Wells called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Cheryl West gave the devotion and invocation.

Connie Kinlaw, scholarship chairman, recognized the scholarship winners and their families: Essence Lewis from East Bladen High and Peyton Chavis from West Bladen High.

Melinda Coughlin provided the program for the evening. She introduced the college advisors from East Bladen and West Bladen high schools — Kendyll Graham and Chelsea Krieger — and each advisor informed the Chapter of their jobs, describing ways in which they can assist students.

Secretary Noel Dennis read the minutes from the February meeting and Denise White provided the treasurer’s report.

The half-and-half drawing was won by Connie Kinlaw.

President Wells thanks the hostesses — Cheryl Walters, chairman; Peggy Allen; Mickie Davis; Martha Walters; and Glenda Ward — and the meeting was closed with prayer.
