DUBLIN — Robert Canida, II, director for Diversity and Inclusion at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, will speak on the BCC campus on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m., in the Student Resource Center (building 7).

Canida is the immediate past chairman for UNCP’s Staff Council and serves on the Pembroke Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

He has co-authored and presented numerous publications addressing the importance of diversity in academic settings and the workplace. His presentations include discussions about cultural competency and organizational change.

Canida holds a bachelor of science degree from Xavier University, a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky, and a doctorate degree from North Carolina A&T State University.

At UNCP, Canida provides leadership for the development, design and execution of diversity, inclusion, and multicultural programs and events. As an agent of change, the Office for Diversity and Inclusion seeks to value cultural diversity in order to promote an empowered society.
