DUBLIN — The Small Business Center of Bladen Community College is offering several no-cost seminars in February to help you grow or start your own business.

A monthly series begins at the Bladenboro Community Center entitled “How to Enhance Your Negotiating and Forecasting Skills.” Workshops meet on the first Thursday of each month from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM. For a small business owner, developing these skills can mean the difference between struggling and profiting. The Bladenboro Community Center is located at 109 Elm Street in Bladenboro.

On Tuesday, Feb. 9, the “Start Your Business” series continues with “Business Taxes.” a timely topic. Classes meet from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown.

On the East Arcadia campus the SBC is hosting “Getting Your Business on Facebook” on Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Anyone who needs social media help can sign up for a lab-based hands-on seminar. This seminar will also be conducted on the main campus in Dublin on Monday, February 29, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

Local artists will benefit from attending the seminar “How to be a Profitable Artist.” Scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18, from 6:30 tol 9 p.m., this workshop is perfect for creatives, artists and others who want to sell their creations. The class will meet on the main campus.

“Agri-Tourism as a Small Business” will be the topic at a presentation by Jennifer Holcomb with Columbus County Tourism Development. The workshop is on Tuesday Febr. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown.

“Be Free from Debt’s Hold,” a seminar designed to help you avoid scams and build up your credit, will be held on Saturday Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon on the main campus.

All seminars are open to the public and provided at no charge due to special funding arrangements for the Small Business Center and Bladen Community College.
