— Mt. Elam Missionary Baptist Church, located on N.C. 210 West in Garland, is having its annual Family and Friends Day Celebration. Services will start at 11 a.m. and will conclude with a family luncheon. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

— Greater McKoy’s Chapel, Inc. (282 Center Road, Elizabethtown) will host a Gospel Explosion at 6 p.m. The congregation invites everyone to join in praise through song.

— St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church, located at 410 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Bladenboro, will celebrate its 124th church anniversary at 3:30 p.m. The guest for this program will be the Rev. Michael Ballard, pastor of St. John and Harrison Creek A.M.E. Zion Churches. A total of 124 balloons will be released in memory of loved ones.
