Aug. 5

— Windsor United Methodist Church, located on N.C. 242 in Ammon, will host a food bank fundraiser from 4 to 6:30 p.m. There will be a chicken and pastry dinner that will include slaw, candied yams, green beans, roll, tea and cake for $7. Cakes and other items will be raffled off at 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 5-6

— First Baptist Church, located on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Bladenboro, will host a weekend of food, fun, fellowship and worship with the annual A.C. Jones Chorale Choir’s Weekend Celebration. On Saturday at 12:30 p.m., there will be a family cookout with a water slide, water games, face painting, snow cones and more. On Sunday, there will be a worship service at 11 a.m. with the theme “Old Time Religion,” and light refreshments will be served.

Aug. 16-20

— The Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Women’s convention, “Women With A Praise, Take Off The Mask,” will be held each night at 7 p.m. The services kick off on Wednesday, Aug. 16, featuring Minister Sherecka Baker​ of Evangel Temple in Dublin and continue Thursday, Aug. 17, with Apostle Andria U. Weekes of Greater Works Church of Deliverance Ministries in West End; Friday, Aug. 18, with Pastor Tracy Troy of Victory in Jesus Ministries of Whiteville. There are no services on that Saturday. The convention concludes Sunday morning, Aug. 20, beginning at 10 a.m. with Pastor Cheryl Moore of Zion Temple United Church of Christ in Durham. The entire spiritual undertakings will be held at Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 4047 N.C. 242 South in Elizabethtown.

Aug. 19

— Galeed Baptist Church, located at 571 Galeed Church Road in Bladenboro, will host “New Dove Brothers & Carolina Homecoming” at 7 p.m. featuring The Dover Brothers and Jordan’s Bridge. No tickets required.

Aug. 20

— The public is invited to Family and Friends Day at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located at 851 South Braddy Plantation Road in Council, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Carl A. Smith is the pastor. The day’s guests will be Delora Lesane and Greater McKoy’s Chapel Church from Dublin.

— Women’s Day will be observed at Whites Creek Missionary Baptist Church during the morning service starting at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Minister Shelia Cromartie and the public is invited. The church is located at 6838 Airport Road in the Lisbon Community.

— Whites Creek Missoinary Baptist Church will hold Revival Services starting at 7 p.m. each night. The Rev. Mumford of South Carolina will be the speaker. The church is located at 6838 Airport Road in the Lisbon Community.

Sept. 1-2

— A community yard sale will be held at Lasley’s Motel, located at 1930 White lake Drive in White Lake, from 8 a.m. until? For sale will be various items from the historic Lasley’s Motel and cottages, household goods, appliances, furniture and much more. Proceeds will benefit the White Lake Christian Camp and Retreat Center.

Sept. 3

— An open house will be held at the White Lake Christian Camp and Retreat Center from 2 to 4 p.m. The public is invited.

Sept. 29-Oct. 1
