Dec. 2

— White Oak Family Worship Center will host its fourth annual oyster roast under the pavilion, located at 1932 Burney Road in White Oak. Cost is $35 per person for all-you-can eat oysters as well as shrimp, fish, chicken bog and hushpuppies. There will be a bazaar from 4 to 8 p.m. with a variety of craft vendors; there will be live music from 6 to 8 p.m. Sponsored by the Children & Youth Department. Dec. 3

— Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2058 Baltimore Road in Council, will host a “100 Women in Red” event at 3:30 p.m. Guest speakers will include Katrina Boykins, Pastor Nikki Steven and First Lady Deborah Gause. Refreshments will be served. Men are also welcome.

— A community-wide “Hanging of the Greens” service will be held at Historic Old Trinity Church on East Broad Street in Elizabethtown at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

Dec. 6

— A community Advent service will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, led by Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church Pastor David Holloway. The service will take place from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Dec. 9

— Tar Heel Baptist Church will present the play “Christmas in Tar Heel” at 5:40 p.m. The play features special guests from Clark’s Chapel AME Zion Church and Love Grove Baptist Church. Baptist Church. The program will include comical hosts, adult choirs, dance, puppets, a children’s choir, soloists, and a praise team all pointing to the true meaning of Christmas. After the program there will be gingerbread decorating for kids and a “Remembrance Tree” to honor those who have passed away this year from Tar Heel. This is a free event.

Dec. 10

— Elizabethtown Baptist Church on West Broad Street will host its annual Christmas Cantata at 11 a.m.

— Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladenboro will celebrate “Senior Citizen Day” during its 11 a.m. service. All church seniors 60 and older are encouraged to be present for recognition — and please wear red for the occasion.

Dec. 13

— A community Advent service will be held at Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church, led by St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church Pastor Gerry Blackburn. The service will take place from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Dec. 17

— Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church on West Broad Street will host its Christmas Cantata at 11 a.m. and against at 7 p.m.

— Galeed Baptist Church will host its annual Christmas Cntata at 10:50 a.m.

— Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladenboro will celebrate a Christmas program following the 11 a.m. service.

Dec. 20

— Trinity United Methodist Church will host a community Advent service led by Edwin Ferguson, pastor of Mount Zion A.M.E. Zion Church. The service will take place from noon to 12:30 p.m.

— Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladenboro will celebrate with a Church Christmas Service starting early at 8 a.m.

— New Year’s Eve

— The deacons of Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladenboro will spearhead the “Watch Night Service” starting at 10:30 p.m. with a candlelight march. The Rev. Donald Thompson will bring the midnight message.

• LUMBERTON: Three Bridges will be in concert at Kingdom Place on Sunday, Dec. 3, in the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. Kingdom Place is located at 2610 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton.
