— Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church will host a barbecue plate fundraiser to benefit East Bladen High School football coach Robby Priest on Saturday, April 7, in the PAC building from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be a silent auction. Plates will cost $8 each and will include barbecue, baked beans, slaw, rolls and dessert for eat-in or take out. T-shirts with the slogan #RobbyStrong can also be purchased through the Facebook group Fighting with Robby—#RobbyStrong. Priest is currently battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy treatments. All proceeds from the fundraisers will go to assist Priest and his family with medical expenses.

April 8

— Do you want to hear some great gospel music? Come to Baldwin Branch, where the Baldwin Branch Male Chorus anniversary will be celebrated at 3 p.m. The Rev. Andy Anderson of Whiteville will be the master of ceremonies. Several singing groups will be live. Baldwin Branch is located at 4047 N.C. 242 South in Elizabethtown.

— Clarkton PFWB Church invites the community to join our congregation for our Spring Revival. Worship services will be held each night featuring a different speaker with special singing provided by T.J. Tatum. Speakers will be: April 8 at 6 p.m., the Rev. — It’s party time! Greater McKoy’s Chapel, Inc. will be having their annual Birthday Celebration on Saturday, April 21, at 4 p.m. The Rev. Edwin Ferguson, pastor of Mt. Zion AME Zion Church, choir and congregation will be the special guest at Greater McKoy’s Chapel, Inc., where Dr. Delora LeSane is the pastor. — St. Luke AME Zion Church, located at 410 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Bladenboro, will celebrate 125 years of service at 3:30 p.m. The rev. Gordon L. Griffen, pastor of Moore’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Currie will be the guest along with his choir and congregation. A memorial balloon release will follow the service.

— Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Council will host the 16th Pastoral Anniversary celebration for the Rev. Carl A. Smith.
