Oct. 16

— Men’s Ministry Game night will take place at 7 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabethtown. The church is located at 501 Martin Street, Elizabethtown.

Oct. 17

— The Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church Christian Education Ministry is sponsoring “Focus on the Family Seminars” Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon. The facilitators are Pas. Lorraine Jackson of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Amy Ruffin, director of the Bladen County Senior Center, and Angie Westmoreland and Jessica Wilson of Baldwin Branch. Information, exciting items and ideas will be available for youth, teens, young adults and seniors. The community is invited. Baldwin Branch is located at 4047 NC 242 Highway South, Elizabethtown.

Oct. 18

— Hickory Grove Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming and their 181st anniversary. The day’s services begin with Sunday School at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11 a.m. A memorial service will be observed during worship. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Bradley Tatum and there will be special music. Lunch will be served in the Family Life Center following the worship, and the annual Hickory Grove Cemetery, Inc. business meeting will be held in the church sanctuary at 1:30 p.m. The church is located at 6414 Center Road, Bladenboro. — The officers and members of St. John AME Zion Church will host a service at 11 a.m. to honor the Rev Jimmy Melvin. The Rev. George Patrick will be the guest speaker. The public is invited to attend.

— The Abbottsburg Baptist Church will celebrate its 145th anniversary at 11 a.m. A joint Sunday school lesson will be taught at 10 a.m. by Bobby Pate of Durham. The Rev. Bruce Cannon, director of Missions for the Bladen Baptist association will bring the morning message at 11 a.m. Special music will be provided. Lunch will be served after the morning service. Everyone is invited to attend.

Oct. 20

— Christian Women’s Job Corps will meet at 7 p.m. first Baptist Church of Bladenboro. The guest speaker for the evening will be Mary Ellen Bowman, executive director of CJWC. The church is located at 500 South Main Street, Bladenboro.

Oct. 24

— There will be a Boston butt sale at the Elizabethtown Church of God from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Cost is $25 and can be picked up at the church located at 1767 NC Hwy. 242 North. For more information call 910-374-1886.

The Elizabethtown Church of God will have a fall festival from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be Trunk-or-Treat and games from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. There will be games,. crafts, bake sale items and a silent auction. The church is located at 1767 NC Hwy. 242 North, Elizabethtown.

— Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Council will be celebrating their Annual Birthday Rally at 3:30 p.m. Guests will be the Rev. Clifton Freeman and First Missionary Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to attend.

— Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Council will have their Annual Harvest Day celebration beginning at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend

— The Senior Choir of Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their anniversary at 3 p.m. Many local choirs and musicians will be on hand for this musical celebration. Refreshments will be provided.

Nov. 3

— The deacons of Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church will spearhead a three night revival beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 3, and continuing through Thursday, Nov. 5. Services wil begin at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The revivalists will be the Rev. Hakeem Reeves of Pleasant Grove MBC of Calabash on tuesday and the Rev. Corey Samuel Blanks of Charlotte on Wednesday and Thursday night.

— First MBC Pas. Cliff Freeman will be ministering at Hickory Grove MBC beginning Wednesday, Oct. 28, and continuing through Friday, Oct. 30. Services will begin at 7 p.m. nightly. Hickory Grove MBC is located at 5598 Hinson’s Cross Roads, Fair Bluff.

— College Small Group will meet from 6 until 7 p.m. (ages 18 to 23) followed by AMPED Student Ministry worship service from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. each Sunday night at Dublin First Baptist Church. The upbeat worship service will be lead by our student ministry band, and include drama, and deep Biblical teaching.
