A total 13 students of Vicky McLaughlin and Jenna Hester’s sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade classes from Elizabethtown Christian Academy visited Bladen Crisis Assistance at the end of November. They delivered food they had collected and talked about the needs of some of our Bladen County residents. BCA has given out more than 700 tons of food since it opened the doors in 2003. Students saw the food storage room and what food staples went into the bags. They listened very well on how to correctly pack the bags for distribution. Then the students rolled up their sleeves and got to work. Those 13 students packed and prepared 137 bags of food for distribution … accomplishing this in just one hour.
