— Christian Plain AME Zion Church of Whiteville invites the public to its Black History Banquet at 6 p.m. at the Paul R. Brown Building located at 1360 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Elizabethtown. Several individuals and businesses will be presented with Distinguished Service Awards. The theme of the evening is “Black Americans Making a Difference in past, Present and Future.” Guest speaker will be Judge Pauline Hankins of the 13th District Court. Entertainment provided by Pastor Ollie C. Maultsby along with the Paul R. Brown Color Guard and Drill Team. Banquet tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the door or contact the Rev. Joyce A. — Colly Chapel Church will have an Indoor Yard Sale starting at 7 a. m. at Colly Chapel Church Fellowsihg Hall located at 9447 Hwy 41 East, Harrells. All proceeds will fund Tent Revival.

March 6

— The St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church, located at 410 Martin Luther King Dr. in Bladenboro, will observe Pew Sunday during the 10 a.m. morning worship service. Our goal is to fill all the pews. You are invited to come and be a part of this great program.

— St. James Fire Baptized Holiness Church will be having a special afternoon service at 5 p.m. The church is located on Newkirk Street in Elizabethtown. The Rev. Harry Primes from New Hope Missionary Baptist church will be the guest speaker.

March 13

— A birthday celebration for Pastor Felicia Murchison will be held at Refuge of Deliverance Ministries located at 203 Martin Luther King Dr. in Elizabethtown at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be Apostle Emmanuel Cooper of Laurinburg. Everyone is invited.

— Whites Creek Missionary Baptist Church located at 6838 Airport Road in the Lisbon community, will be celebrating their annual birthday rally at 3:30 p.m. Everyone is invited.

— Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church in East Arcadia will host its “Windows and Widowers’ March” program at 3 p.m. The guest church will be Pastor Carl Moore and Lakes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Everyone is invited.

— Tatum’s 14th annual gospel singing anniversary at 6 p.m. at New Life Church located at 107 South Maultsby Street in Whiteville. Featuring Nadine and Stevie, Beaverdam Boys, and Joyful Sounds. There will be a special appearance by T.J. Tatum, door prizes, and refreshments available.
