— Elizabethtown Church of God, located at 1767 N.C. Hwy. 242 North in Elizabethtown, will have a Memorial Day singing beginning at 4 p.m. Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend.

— Martin Chapel AME Zion Church will host a hot dog plate sale as part of a Young Adults Memorial Day Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church on Hwy. 87 in Tar Heel. The plates will consist of two hot dogs, bottled water or soda and chips for $5. Items may also be purchased separately — hot dog $2, chips $1, soda or bottled water, $1. All proceed benefit the church.

— The Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church clothes closet will be open from 8 to 11 a.m. The food pantry, “From His Table to Yours,” will be open as well from 10 a.m. to noon. — Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church, located at 16920 Twisted Hickory Road in Bladenboro, will have its birthday celebration for April, May and June at their 11 a.m. worship service.

— The Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church Young Adult Missionary Ministry will present “Pack the Pew 2016,” with the theme “Let’s Go Higher” at 9:45 a.m. with Worship leader and Co-Pastor Ashley Carter of World Overcomer’s Christian Church in Durham. Guest speaker will be Pastor Sherman Blandon of Mt. Moriah Christian Church in Wilson. Everyone is requested to bring canned goods or any non-perishable food items to pack-the-front-pew supporting their food pantry “From His Table to Yours.” Additionally, this is the annual family and friends’ day. — Center Road Baptist Church’s annual VBS will start today and run daily through Thursday, June 9. A meal will be served each night beginning at 5:3 p.m. An adult class will be taught by the Rev. David Rutland for ages 18 and above. This year’s theme is “Submerged.”

— Tar Heel Baptist Church will have VBS through Friday the 10th. There will be a meal served at 6 p.m each night. There will be Bible Study, games, crafts, music, and water slides for kids and youth. There will be Bible Study and crafts for the adults. Friday night will be our VBS celebration where parents can come enjoy dinner and see what their kids have learned through Bible Study, music, crafts, and recreation all week. Everyone is invited and transportation is available.

— Clarkton Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church will host its 63rd annual homecoming. At 10 a.m. Jerri and Larry Mercer will share their talents of gospel singing; at 11 a.m. our guest speaker will be the Rev. Preston Heath of the PFWB Conference Headquarters in Dunn; at noon a covered dish lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall. — New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Clarkton will celebrate its third annual Pastoral Anniversary for Pastor Harry Primus and First Lady Keteriah Primus starting at 11 a.m. Special guest at 11 a.m. will be Pastor Carl Smith of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church; special guest at 3 p.m. will be Pastor Q. — “Submerged” Vacation Bible School comes to Hickory Grove Baptist Church starting today through June 29 at 6 p.m. each day. We’ll enjoy Bible study, music, crafts, supper, and recreation. Classes are available for ages Babies – sixth grade, and parents and guests are also invited to join us nightly for our Worship Rally and fellowship supper.
