Golf tournament set for April 27

WHITE LAKE — The 28th annual Bladen We Care Byron H. Gooden Memorial Golf Tournament will be played on Thursday, April 27, at Vineyard Golf at White Lake with two events.

The morning event will tee off at 8:30 a.m. and the afternoon event will tee off at 1 p.m., with each using a Captain’s Choice format. Breakfast will be available for the morning players and lunch will be available for all players.

The cost is $125 per person or $500 per team.

Softball registration ongoing

ELIZABETHTOWN — Registration for girls softball will continue through April 7.

Leagues are being offered for ages 5 to 7, 8 to 10, 11 to 12, and 13 to 16 (ages as of Jan. 1).

The registration fee is $30 per participant.

Players can register online at bladeninfo.org (Parks & Recreation Department) or visit the Bladen County Parks and Recreation office on King Street to register. For information, call 910-862-6770.
