DUNN — East Bladen came up short in a back and forth match Thursday, falling to Midway in the Four County Conference match, 2-1, on a late goal by the Lady Raiders.

The loss drops the Lady Eagles to 8-3 overall and 4-3 in the conference.

Midway fired home a shot in the first half and made it stand up to halftime. But East Bladen knotted the game in the second half when Justyna Gargala got fouled in close and Ashley Hardin blasted a penalty shot to the back of the net.

The teams went back and forth until Midway scored with less than 10 minutes left in the match to seal the win.

Ting Lin recorded five saves in the East Bladen nets.

The Lady Eagles will travel to Clinton on Tuesday for a conference match at 6 p.m.
