ELIZABETHTOWN — East Bladen took four of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches on Wednesday and earned a 6-3 Four County Conference win over cross-county rival West Bladen.

After dropping the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, the Eagles swept the next four — getting singles wins from Robert Meggs at No. 3 by a 6-1 and 6-0 verdict; Gabe Barnes at No. 4 by a 6-1 and 6-0 score; Jacob Barber at No. 5 by a 6-3 and 6-3 margin; and Jay McGill at No. 6 by a 6-1 and 6-1 verdict.

The Knights got on the board with a hard-earned win at No. 1 singles by Joseluis Osorio, 6-4 and 7-5, and a win at No. 2 singles by Tate Sykes, 6-3 and 7-5.

West Bladen cut into the deficit with a win at No. 1 doubles by the team of Osorio and Sykes, 7-3 in a tie-breaker, but East Bladen sewed up the match with a win at No. 2 from Alex Gomez and Meggs, 8-1, along with a hard-earned win at No. 3 from Collins Pridgen and Grey Cabellero, 9-7.

East Bladen, now 1-0, will travel to Clinton for a conference match on Wednesday at 4 p.m. West Bladen, now 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference, was scheduled to be on the road at South Columbus for a non-conference match Monday before hosting Clinton in a conference match Tuesday at 4 p.m.
