HOLLY RIDGE — The Lady Eagles of East Bladen found themselves in a quick hole Saturday against Dixon and went on to drop a 4-0 verdict in the second round of the state’s Class 2-A soccer playoffs.

The loss finishes East Bladen’s season at 16-5.

The Lady Bulldogs booted home a goal less than 2 minutes into the match and doubled that 1-0 lead 20 minutes later. Late in the first half, Dixon found the back of the net again with a goal and carried a 3-0 advantage into halftime.

East Bladen couldn’t find a crack in the Dixon defense, while the Lady Bulldogs added their fourth goal early in the second half to all but seal the win.

Dixon had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks during the match and moves into the third round with a 20-2-1 mark.
