DUBLIN — West Bladen’s softball program had two of its rising stars chosen to compete in the 2017 North Carolina Powerade Games in Greensboro later this month.

Conner Brisson and Carley Dawson, both rising juniors at West Bladen, will play for the Southeast Region team during competition on June 20-21.

Brisson led the Lady Knights with a .516 batting average — banging out 32 hits, driving in 23 runs and scoring 23 runs. She was West Bladen’s shortstop.

Dawson, who manned the hot corner for the Lady Knights, hit .500 with 33 hits, 32 RBI, 36 runs scored, seven doubles and three home runs.

The duo helped lead coach Joey Autrey’s squad to a 20-4 record.
