ELIZABETHTOWN — East Bladen finds itself in an unexpected position this week after a forfeit win over east Columbus on Friday has given the Eagles two weeks between games — and the last two games played by East Bladen, against Fairmont and St. Pauls, each pushed the Eagles to the limits.
But on Friday, East Bladen will travel to Rowland for a Three Rivers Conference game against South Robeson, a team that has show some life during the conference competition.
The Mustangs, 3-6 overall and 3-4 in the conference, have scored 213 points this season with an offense led by quarterback Tyler Locklear. At his disposal are running back Darrius Brown, 6-3 wide receiver Tyleek Baker and 6-3, 255 tight end Cameron Werrell.
On defense, South Robeson has allowed 288 points this season and are led by linebacker Jaylen Mitchell, along with a line that includes 6-1, 230 Eric Lewis; 6-2, 330 Marqice Murphy; and 6-4, 210 Derrick Hunt.
The Eagles — who are 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference — have owned the Mustangs, holding a 7-0 record all-time, including a 33-6 win in September 2010.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Friday.
