DUBLIN — The visiting Wolfpack of Whiteville built a 17-point halftime lead and never looked back, knocking off West Bladen in a Three Rivers Conference tilt, 81-54.

The loss drops the Knights to 1-6 overall, 0-5 in the conference.

Whiteville went on a 20-9 run through the first quarter and maintained the momentum through the second stanza, using a 17-11 advantage in the period to take a 37-20 lead into halftime.

The Wolfpack offense got ratcheted up another notch after halftime, as the visitors put 25 points on the board and held the Knights to 15 for a 62-35 lead after three quarters.

The two teams combined for another 38 points over the final 8 minutes of play with the Knights and Wolfpack each scoring 19, and Whiteville easily sealed up the win.

Jimmy Williams led West Bladen with 22 points with a three-pointer, while Kerron Washington contributed 10 points with a pair of three-pointers.

The Knights will play a non-conference game at Union on Monday at 8 p.m.
