DUBLIN — Rain played havoc with the Dixie Pre-Majors summer schedule last week, and the only game to be played came Friday when East Columbus visited West Bladen for what was a make-up from two days earlier.

Jarret Williams scattered six hits over six innings and helped lift the Knights to a 4-2 win that improved West Bladen to 3-2 on the season.

After the Knights fell behind by a 2-0 margin early in the game, West Bladen began its comeback by cutting the deficit in half in the bottom of the fourth frame. Scott Bowen and Trent West each singled and a groundout by Chalndler Lennon scored Bowen.

In the home half of the fifth inning, Brandon Carson singled and, after an error, Weston Pidgeon singled to drive home a run and knot the game at 2-2. With two outs, Donald McCullum legged out an infield single that brought home the go-ahead run and, in all the confusion, Pidgeon kept running and scored to double the lead to 4-2.

The Gators threatened in the top of the seventh, knocking Williams from the game when they put the tying runners on base. Bit Bowen came on in relief and earned the save without allowing any damage.

Williams struck out two and walked two in earning the win.

West Bladen put together just five hits in the game — Bowen, Carson, McCullum, Pidgeon and West each had singles.
