ROWLAND — East Bladen used a huge double-double from Sincere Smith to earn a 65-58 Three Rivers Conference win over South Robeson.
The win improved the Eagles to 5-15 overall, 3-12 in the conference.
The Mustangs took the early lead, 14-12, as the first quarter closed despite nine points from Smith. Three-pointers from Adonis Avery and Messiah Leach in the second stanza kept East Bladen close, but South Robeson managed to carry a 34-28 advantage into the intermission.
But things began to turn after halftime, as Smith canned six points with a three-pointer, Avery hit another three-pointer and the Eagles stayed right with South Rob, 15-15, and went to the fourth quarter trailing by 49-43.
Smith began to take over down the stretch, scoring nine points, and Leach added six points to help East Bladen outscore the Mustangs by a 22-9 margin and steal the win.
Smith led all scorers with 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds; Avery added 15 points; Leach contributed 11 points.
East Bladen will travel to lake Waccamaw on Friday for a conference game with East Columbus at 8 p.m.
